Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m going to spare you a love story and instead tell you a funny story – not about my husband and I, but about my love affair with my mailman (not really, but just go with it).

So my mailman has a special place on my “Top Ten Most Important People” list. He’s always bringing my mail (along with my many packages each day) up my long driveway to my doorstep and is so kind about my package pick-ups whenever I need them.

This time of year especially, I always feel for him when he has to get out of his warm truck and trek up the cold, icy driveway, and so I like to leave him a little something to get through the rest of his day. Sometimes it’s cookies, sometimes it’s chocolates – but always food (obviously).

So as I was backing up his box of chocolates yesterday, I realized something – I don’t tend to leave him anything in the Spring or the Summer (he probably wants any excuse to get out of his truck and into the fresh air). I don’t tend to leave him anything in the fall (no reason why here, I just forget). I don’t tend to leave him anything around Christmastime (too busy and hectic for everyone and I don’t need the UPS guy stealing his treats). But somehow, coincidentally, the time is always right on Valentine’s Day.

So to my beloved mailman, whom I only leave gifts for on Valentine’s Day, while I do appreciate you, I am not, in fact, in love with you.

Black Spring Jackets

Let’s chat about Spring. We’re just under five weeks and counting, but who says we have to wait until it’s here to start breaking out our Spring wardrobes?

I love the idea of bombers and leather jackets as transitional outerwear. I came across this fringe jacket a few months ago and though I haven’t been able to wear it much just yet, I’m planning on it being a staple in my closet this Spring. I chose to style it with jeans for a more casual look, but a black jacket can certainly be dressed up too!

A classic black will never go out of style, so I’ve rounded up some of my favorites for the upcoming season!

Okay first of all, I totally feel you on holding your mailman in a special place in your heart. Love mine for always bringing me packages!! Secondly, I can’t with this jacket!! I guess when spring comes along I sort of forget about darker colors and opt for pastels but I must rock a black jacket in spring! Thanks girl

Haha me and my mailman never see each other. Our love story goes: He knocks on my door and leaves a present and when I open the door, there’s no one to be seen. I am definitely in need of more transitional outerwear! I only own 2 moto jackets and way too many coats! Maybe I’ll do some online shopping today for some more spring pieces! I love that fur coat on you though girl!

Oh my goodness, stahppp. That’s hilarious about your “secret love affair” with your mailman. He always does treat you well (with your most coveted fashion packages) and that’s so cute how you return the favor. Such a fun twist. As for these jackets, yours and the leather jacket are my favorites! Can’t get over the fringe detailing and the embroidery on the leather jacket is just perfection. Blank NYC always has the greatest jackets!

Really love your outfit, specially your coat! Hehe, the mailman story is super sweet! My family would give him gifts on holidays too! Or they’d always give him some cold water bottles when it’s super hot out!

  9. Haha, that’s the cutest story ever. Maybe that’s what I need to do to get a Valentine’s for next year… gift my mailman, haha! Seriously though, I will add “gifting my mailman” to the list. Regarding the jackets, absolutely a staple piece we all should have! 🙂
