This weekend kicked off in NYC with an ah-mazing blogger brunch hosted by my girls Sylvia and Karen at The Gander in Flatiron. We ate delicious food, sipped on (probably too much) rosé, made a pit stop at the infamous Flatiron building for some photos and spent the rest of the afternoon at Refinery Rooftop.
Something most people don’t know about me is that I really don’t love meeting new people. At this point in life, I like to stick to my long-time friends, and spend the little free time that I do get with the people whom I’m most comfortable with. Naturally, getting together with a group of girls I had never met before was a little nerve wracking.
The second I stepped foot into brunch though, something just clicked. I felt like I was meeting up with my best friends and immediately felt at ease with this incredibly kind, funny and down-to-earth group of girls.
The quaint, modern space at The Gander was accompanied by a perfect set-up, gorgeous tablescape, and plenty of natural light – which was clearly a necessity because, #photosonphotos.
Yes, we were totally those girls who snapped a photo of everything we ate. #noshameinourblogginggame.
After brunch, we headed over to the Flatiron building for some photos. It’s kind of hilarious to watch a group of bloggers trying to shoot all at once. I’m sure there were more than a few people who got a kick out of watching us do so, especially since we were all a few glasses of rosé deep.
After parting with a few of the girls who had other events to attend, Sylvia, Karen, Megan, Jen and I headed over to Refinery, the chicest little rooftop bar at the top of the Refinery Hotel with incredible views of the Manhattan skyline & Empire State Building. We spent the rest of the afternoon there and had the best time.
PS – that beer Megan is holding was totally a prop. ?
Whether you’re new to blogging or have been doing it for some time, I highly recommend connecting with a group of local bloggers. Having a great group to plan events and get together with who all have common interests is such a great way to network and make new friends!
And if you haven’t met these amazing girls yet, make it a point to get to know them! ?
Thank you to the Gander for generously hosting us!
