White Off-the-Shoulder Top

September 10, 2016

OTS TOP (also similar here) / RAW HEM JEANS (on sale!) / SNEAKS / WATCH (now under $100!) / SUNNIES (40% off through Monday!) / MATTE LIP (new favorite for fall)

The “no white after Labor Day” rule hasn’t crossed my mind in years. I’ve always felt that white is such an understated color that can be worn beautifully in any season of the year. I found this top at one of my favorite little boutiques in Montauk and had to have it. (PS, it comes in blushnavy & black and also as a dress!)

Off the shoulder tops with longer sleeves are a great transitional piece for fall. Plus, I can’t get enough of bell sleeves this season (spoiler, you’ll be seeing a lot of them in my upcoming posts). The floral crochet detail and the generous length pairs perfectly with medium wash skinnies. I finished this look with my raw-hem jeans that you saw in my last post, which I’m currently obsessing over and my favorite pair of neutral causal slip-ons

What did you guys do this weekend? Mine was one for the books. Not because I embarked on a weekend getaway, or had a delicious meal, but because my photo editing capabilities just got real (is it sad that that constitutes a weekend for the books?).

I’ve always been into both photography and videography; I’m that friend who’s always been the designated photo editor and because of that, I’ve experimented with so many different programs over the years. Working in marketing and graphic design, I’m exposed to a plethora of software on a daily basis and recently, it seems as though Adobe Lightroom has been popping up everywhere. To be honest, I never really took the time to look into Lightroom until I stumbled upon this convincing post, tagged in Blair & Jess’ weekly coffee chat.

I like to moan & groan over monthly subscriptions because they’re another bill piled on top of the million I already have, but when Blair compared Lightroom’s monthly subscription to “like 2 lattes at Starbucks”, I rolled my eyes at myself for moaning and groaning and signed up right away. It’s been 1 day and I’m feelin’ like it’s the best ten bucks I’ve ever spent. I will say that if you’re a beginner when it comes to photo editing, don’t expect to learn Lightroom in a day. However, with a Lynda course or some YouTube tutorials, you can definitely learn the tips and tricks you need to navigate the software.

So, what’s the point to me telling you this other being the girl with the new barbie who just wants to show everyone? If you’re a blogger, Lightroom is a game changer. All of my photos in this post were edited with a preset I created under ten minutes #record.
