Your Guide to the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

I always try my best to keep it simple for you when it comes to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I know it can be a lot of content, and feel overwhelming at times! Because I personally shop the sale, I like to share a small selection of my curated picks with you. My hope is that this one-stop-shop for all things 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale makes it a little easier for you to browse and shop.

While Nordstrom holds a few sales throughout the year, this sale is known for its big savings on new items for the Fall season. That's the overarching reason why you see a lot of hype surrounding it (plus a great marketing team that makes the sale hard to ignore)!

How do I find my status?

Nordstrom cardholders are eligible to shop early access to the sale. Every cardholder is a part of a different tier, depending on annual spending. To find your status so you know when you can shop the 2022 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, simply log in to your Nordstrom account! If you don't already have an account, you can create one for free.

Is it worth being a Nordstrom cardholder?

If you shop at Nordstrom often, and early sale access is important to you, being a cardholder is a great option. While cardholders get early access to shop the sale, non-cardholders can still shop, just at a later date. The only major downside to not being a cardholder during this particular sale is that items are known to sell out fast and often times by the time access opens to everyone, items are sold out or in very low stock.

What not to buy from the sale

With the amount of influencers covering the sale, it's very easy to feel like you want everything, and need more than you had set out to buy. But here's the thing...you don't.

When you see people leaving a Nordstrom store with 15 bags, know that they're using most of those items to try on and share, and will return most of it later. As a shopper, I'm telling you that it's not realistic to buy 10 pairs of shoes. Here's what not to buy from the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale...

1 / That one thing you see everyone buying

There's always that one item that everyone won't stop talking about, which sells out in a day. Unless you feel like you can't live without it, you don't need it. Trust me!

(with the exception of Barefoot Dreams blankets because they rarely go on sale and we truly fight for these around the house!)

2 / More than a select few pieces for the upcoming Fall season

One of the perks of the sale is that you get to shop pre-season pieces...in JULY. I've experienced first hand buying a handful of Fall pieces that I loved at the time, only to leave them sitting in my closet once October rolled around.Unless you feel like it's going to be a true staple in your wardrobe, hold off. Prices will eventually drop again, and if they don't, chances are you'll find something else you love even more.

3 / A major splurge item

Brand marketing 101...those great deals? They'll get better. What you think might be a major steal on a splurge item during a sale, sometimes may not be all that special.

4 / Basics you don't normally buy from Nordstrom

The Nordstrom sale is likely one of the most over-hyped and widely talked-about sale you will see in a given year amongst the influencer community. I know it can be annoying, I know it can feel overwhelming. Reminding you that if content like this isn't serving you, just skip it!
