The New Dress Style Taking Over My Summer Wardrobe

Since when did minidresses become so short that they can double as shirts? For the past few years, I've been gravitating more towards midi and maxi styles for the sole reason being minidresses were just too mini. When I partnered up with Express this season to bring you some new seasonal looks, I had my eye on so many new dresses but to be honest, I was hesitant because of my past experience.

I didn't need to try on more than 2 dresses before I realized that I had obviously been looking in the wrong place. Express aka my summer savior had done it - the modest minidress. Above the knee and short enough to be classified as a minidress versus a midi, but modest enough to take the style from weekend to work!

Working a full time job, my holy grail pieces are always those that are multi-use: perfect for a date night or an event on the weekend and then right into the office during the week.

I'm a total advocate for dressing down a minidress for weekend wear! I paired my floral dress (also similar here) with these backless sneaks (so easy to slip on and go) and a neutral studded crossbody. Accessorized with a felt hat and these fun colored sunnies I found from a street vendor while shooting in SoHo (also love these / these from Express).
