Sephora Sale 2024: What's Worth It and What's Not

The Sephora Spring Savings Event kicks off on Friday, April 5 with code YAYSAVE. Always a great time to take advantage of restocks and wishlist items! Wanted to share a little look into my ride-or-die products in makeup, skincare and haircare, plus what I'm personally buying and trying for this year's sale and a few products I've tried that weren't all that worth the hype. Lots more on the Sephora Sale 2024 below!

Rouge Status: Take 20% off from 4/5 - 4/15
VIB Status: Take 15% off from 4/9 - 4/15
Insider Status: Take 10% off from 4/9 - 4/15

I love to turn up the glow come Spring. My makeup routine is all about light, natural coverage with a dewy finish and takes under 10-minutes! I've really liked using the Saie Glowy Super Gel as a lightweight primer. You can also mix it into your foundation if you want more of an overall glow.

Another current favorite in my Spring routine is the Makeup by Mario SuperSatin Lipstick (shade Bronx Baby). Shocked to say that it has beat out my favorite shade of all time, Pillow Talk, and claimed the no.1 spot!

If you refresh one item in your makeup bag that isn't a makeup product from the Sephora sale 2024, let it be one of the Saie makeup brushes. I cannot say enough good things about the overall performance of these brushes and how easy they have made makeup application. I used to strictly be a beauty blender girl for foundation, but don't think I'll go back after using Saie's foundation brush. The bronzer brush is also a must-have for me, for any cream bronzers.

What I'm restocking & trying out

1/ Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sun Glow Serum
I love the original Watermelon Glow as a lightweight daily serum and was so excited when I saw Glow Recipe came out with a new version with added bronzing drops! Love that this is an all-in-one, since I currently mix my bronzing drops and serum.

2/ Anastasia BH Brow Freeze Gel
The Brow Freeze Wax is a current staple in my daily routine, but it can sometimes be a pain to untwist the cap, use a brush, clean it, etc. Curious to see how the gel measures up!

3/ Bobbi Brown Cream Eyeshadow
I'm not big on eyeshadow but when I do wear it, I'm a huge fan of simple and understated. Trying out shade Espresso as a go-to for Spring and Summer!

4/ Huda Beauty Baking & Setting Powder
I've used (and loved) the NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder for years but I have not stopped hearing about this one as of late. Want to see how it measures up!

5/ Saie Glow Sculpt Cream Highlighting Blush
Although this is a blush, the darkest bronzy shade of this caught my eye. It looks like such a nice bronzy, glowy finisher for Spring and Summer.

6/ Shark FlexStyle Frizz Fighter Finishing Tool
I've been wanting to get my hands on this new(ish) release for the Shark FlexStyle (full FlexStyle review here)

7/ YSL Lip Oil Stick
I was a huge fan of YSL's Rouge Volupté Shine lipstick, and this is their newly-formulated version. Getting shade 44 - Nude Lavalliere.

8/ REFY Glow & Sculpt Serum Primer with Niacinamide
Crossing my fingers this primer comes back in stock because I'm dying to try it! I'm usually team lightweight + glowy when it comes to primer, but I always think it's good to have a good grippy primer for longer makeup days.

9/ Rare Beauty Luminous Powder Blush
TikTok got me on to this one. Love a blush with a glow for Spring + Summer. Trying shades Cheer + Hope.

10/ Kérastase Hydrating Hair Oil
Huge fan of Kérastase hair products, especially the Blonde Absolú treatment, and this hair oil has been on my list.

11/ Hydrating Glaze Lip Oil
I'm ditching my Fenty lip oil (more on why below) and trying out a new shade from iNNBEAUTY. Have tried this formula before and love!

12/ Bronze Face Glaze Gel Cream
A bronzy glow that's ALSO skincare? Sign me up. Excited to have this in my bag for 'no-makeup makeup' days.

13/ Saie Double-Ended Sculpting Brush
I live + die by my Saie brushes, and if Saie is releasing a new brush, I'm buying it. So many potential uses, but I see myself using for highlight and contour.

Sephora Sale 2024 restocks

+ I've timed my foundation restocks perfectly with Spring Sephora sales. I've been using the ItCosmetics CC+ Illumination for 5+ years

+ I love the Brow Wiz (and wouldn't trade it), but I also wish it lasted longer. I always buy a few during the sale to last me a while.

+ Just about time to restock my ItCosmetics Makeup Melt Cleansing Balm. I always come back to this and have ended up loving the new + improved formula.

+ I usually grab a few Oribe refills during sales. The brand is pricey, but so worth it. Everything from the Gold Lust line is a 10/10 for me (especially this mask - I use 1x a week).

+ I have a love-hate relationship with the Summer Fridays Dream Oasis Serum. It is my FAVORITE, but it runs out so quickly when using it daily. Restocking until I find something I love more!

Want to see all of my clean beauty favorites? Check out the list!

I'm in my cream era, but sometimes it's so hard to choose! Lately, I've been liking layering a powder over a cream (especially with blush) - but no matter what your style is, these are my Sephora favorites for bronze + glow. PS - If you're looking for a Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand alternative, Tarte's Sculpt Tape runs $12 less with my code DANIELLE and performs just as well (TBH, I love both equally!).

Products that didn't make the cut

For as much as we try out when it comes to beauty, I wish the not-so-great was talked about more! Here's a list of products I've purchased and returned. Of course, beauty products are subjective, so please take my opinion as just that!

+ Loved the Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil, but didn't love all of the shades. I only kept Blush Dreams.

+ People rave about the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Concealer but I just couldn't get on board with how lightweight it was. Felt like it had no coverage. Guess I'm a Shape Tape girlie through and through.

+ The Milk Makeup Pore Eclipse Primer is another that gets all the praise, but I (stupidly) tried this out before a wedding for the first time and ended up with a suuuper swollen face for 2 days following from an allergic reaction (not sure to what, but I've never been allergic to any makeup before). Will not be trying out any other Milk Makeup products for this reason!

+ Wanted to love the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Concealer, but this is another one that just didn't have good coverage for me.

+ The Benefit Brow Gel literally did nothing and doesn't pale in comparison to Anastasia BH brow products.

+ I really love Glow Recipe but the Strawberry Pore-Smooth Blur Drops just seemed gimmicky to me.

+ I used to love the Dae conditioner but had to stop using it because of how oily it made my hair (still love the shampoo + purple shampoo though!).

+ I really love this product but wanted to note that the Fenty Lip Oil packaging suuucks. The tube cracked in half and then the top dislodged from the applicator.

If you're looking to take advantage of lower prices on the GOOD skincare products for the Sephora Sale 2024, start with Good Genes by Sunday Riley. It's been a staple in my routine for many years, and is one of my favorite weekly lactic acid treatments (in my minimal-ish skincare routine). Also pretty much goes without saying at this point but if you have yet to try the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm, pls stop depriving yourself (I love the OG Vanilla, or Vanilla Beige for a sheer tint).

I'm not a big haircare product junkie, but I do have my tried-and-true favorites I've been using forever. The Ouai Detox Shampoo is such a game-changer for me and gives me a solid 4-5 clean hair days. It does an amazing job of removing product build up and really cleaning my hair. Dae is another favorite haircare brand; the Cactus Fruit 3-in-1 Styling Cream is my go-to for slicked back buns - so lightweight and leaves no oily residue whatsoever. Blondies, don't skip out on the Violet Hour Purple Shampoo either!

I'd be remiss if I didn't give another mention to Oribe. The Gold Lust mask will change your life and the Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray is a must before every blow out and smells insane.

And that's the long-winded tea on the Sephora Sale 2024! Hope this post was helpful in compiling all my tried-and-trues. If you have any additional questions about shades or product uses, shoot me a DM on Instagram! Will also be covering the sale and sharing an updated Spring makeup routine there!
