Video Tutorial: My Signature Beachy Waves
It's Monday but I could care less because I am officially on vacay! Starting my career as an elementary teacher, I never thought I would have to return to a life of no summers off. It's definitely a tough luxury to give up, so I appreciate my time off like you wouldn't believe now that I don't have it. With the extra few days, I'm getting plenty done this week before we head out east to Montauk for the fourth. First up is this hair tutorial, which has been my most-requested video content to-date.
I'm so excited to finally be able to share a full tutorial for my signature beachy waves with you guys! Breaking down the process step-by-step, from the right way to hold the wand to my favorite post-styling products.
Tip for short hair: Using a wand with shorter hair, it's easy to lose a lot of length quickly. To gain some length back and keep your hair from looking like Shirley Temple, once you're done curling, gently run a flatiron over your curls with one pass. While your hair is still hot, give your ends a tug to flatten your curls out. Doing this will achieve a gorgeous, tousled beachy look like this.
Tip for a more undone look: After curling, use a flatiron to straighten the bottom 2" of your hair. This will help to create a piecey, lived-in style!
