2021 Skincare

It's the Year of Skincare

From 2020 into 2021, I really upped my skincare game. More time at home meant feeling a little less rushed, and adding a few extra minutes to my AM & PM Skincare Routine didn't seem so "impossible".

When it comes to skincare, when I find something I love, I usually like to stick with it for a while so I can see it's full potential, and in 2020 I did just that. That doesn't mean I'm not over here searching for the next best thing though!

Recently added the following 3 products to my skincare routine this year, which I've been using for a few months now. Breaking down when to use them and what they do for your skin in today's post!

GLOW RECIPE WATERMELON GLOW NIACINIMIDE DEW DROPS (shop it here)
Okay first off, this serum smells ah-mazing. It's like a natural, non-fragrancy watermelon smell. Bonus points: It's vegan & cruelty free!

What it does:
This product is a multi-use highlighting serum that hydrates and visibly reduces the look of hyperpigmentation for a dewy, reflective glow without any glitter, mica, or greycast. It also contains hyaluronic acid which locks in moisture and keeps skin feeling hydrated by retaining 1,000 times it's weight in water.

When to use it:
This product is meant to be used as a part of your skincare routine as a serum (I use it morning and night) or on top of your makeup to finish your look with a dewy glow.

Why I love it:
The level of moisture it delivers without feeling sticky or heavy is better than some of my favorite night creams. That glowy, hydrated and refreshed feeling sticks around, which I love about this serum.

THE ORDINARY HYALURONIC ACID 2.5% & B5 (shop it here)

If you're looking for a mega-budget find that still works overtime on your skin, The Ordinary is a great brand to try, with most products marked at $15 and under. This is a new(er) brand for me, and I've been really enjoying it!

What it does:
This product is a hydrating formula with ultra-pure, vegan hyaluronic acid and Vitamin B5 for enhanced hydration to combat dryness.

When to use it:
AM and PM before creams (see more about why your order of application is SO important when it comes to skincare here!)

Why I love it:
When I'm feeling like I want more weightless-feeling serum, I love applying this before moisturizer. Especially in the Winter, my skin suffers from dryness and applying this and then locking it in with a daily moisturizer keeps my skin feeling hydrated.

SKINCEUTICALS A.G.E. EYE COMPLEX (shop it here)

If you haven't tried Skinceuticals, it's likely because of the price tag. As a medical grade skincare line, their products are definitely more of a splurge, but you also get what you pay for!

What it does:
The Eye Complex instantly reduces the appearance of dark circles and capillaries while flavanoids and peptides work over time to dramatically improve dark circles and puffiness. Blueberry extract and proxylane moisturize, nourish and prevent future visible signs of aging while simultaneously boosting elasticity and skin thickness, thereby diminishing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and crow's feet.

When to use it:
Skinceuticals recommends using this eye cream once or twice a day. I use it as a part of my PM skincare routine.

Why I love it:
First off, a little goes a long way, so with a $98 price tag, I've been using this for a few months and barely see a dent in the tube. Although I'm not quite there yet, the teeny fine lines that I would see when I looked up close at my eye area are almost unrecognizable, and my eye area overall just feels more hydrated and baby soft.

That's the rundown! My 2021 skincare routine is off to a great start with these 3 new products. Always love sharing my beauty and skincare finds with you, because that's how I find most of mine - through recommendations! Any new products you're using and loving this year?
