How to Style: Casual

For a casual dinner, day of running errands, or for grabbing coffee, I'd style a pair of leather pants with some sneakers and a hoodie or long sleeve tee with a vest over the top. I'm obsessed with this vest and have been wearing it non-stop lately! For those warmer days, you could opt for a plain white tee or a tank and cardigan.

Pants Sizing

This may just be a matter of preference, but I always tend to take a size up in anything faux-leather. Even with the generous stretch content of Abercrombie's styles, I like the extra comfort and movability.

My Abercrombie pant sizing generally ranges from a 28-29, depending on the style and I size up to a 30 in Abercrombie's faux leather pants.

Curve Love vs. Regular Fit

Abercrombie Curve Love is one of my favorite new additions to Abercrombie pants since their rebrand. When Curve Love first came out, I was confused as to what it was, so let me break it down for you!

Curve Love styles come in sizes 23-37, AKA they cover Abercrombie's entire size range and they have an additional 2" throughout the hip and thigh.

If you find that you have a little more room in the hips and the butt with a smaller proportioned waist, I highly recommend giving Curve Love a try. Curve Love aims to eliminate that annoying "waist gap" that you sometimes experience from having to buy a size up to better-fit your hips and butt, only to be left with a big gap of extra fabric at the waist.

I generally prefer Curve Love styles in Abercrombie jeans, but take Regular styles in Abercrombie's faux leather pants.

Length

The length on Abercrombie's faux leather styles was a little tricky for me to figure out at first. For starters, I'm 5'6" and always wear a regular length in Abercrombie jeans. Here's how my 3 favorite styles break down:

Vegan Leather Ankle Straight - This is my favorite and most-worn style. Although meant to be an 'ankle length', the "Regular" felt awkwardly short for me and even left a gap between my higher-ankle boots. For this reason, I prefer the "Long" length for this pair.

Vegan Leather 90s Straight - I didn't like this style at first and eventually realized it was because of the length. This "Regular" felt awkwardly long with a heeled boot especially. For this reason, I prefer the "Short" length for this pair.

Vegan Leather Cargo 90s Relaxed - I have gotten so much more use out of this style than anticipated! With this style, the "Regular" length felt perfect.

The Vegan Leather Ankle Straight pant is my most-worn style and also mimics the fit of one of my favorite pairs of Abercrombie jeans, the Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight.

Vegan Leather 90's Straight Pant

This is by far Abercrombie's most popular and talked about vegan leather pant. This style has a classic straight leg fit with an ultra high rise and a longer-length inseam. Although I'm 5'6" and usually take a "Regular" length, I prefer a "Short" in this style for the most flattering fit.

Vegan Leather Ankle Straight Pant

The Ankle Straight is my personal favorite from the vegan leather crew! This style has a classic straight leg fit with an ultra high-rise and hits at the ankle. It's great for boots in the Fall and Winter, but also super cute casually styled with a pair of high-top Converse year-round. Although this is meant to be an ankle length pant, I found the "Regular" length awkwardly short and instead prefer a "Long" in this style for the perfect ankle length.

How to Style: Winter Cozy

For a winter cozy fit, I love styling my leather pants with a wool coat. Depending on how cold it is, I'll pair them with a tee or some kind of knit. Just throw on some boots or sneakers and you're out the door. For some extra warmth, I'll add a beanie - you just never know with these NY winters!

Vegan Leather 90's Relaxed & Cargo 90s RelaxedPant

This vegan leather style is slimmer-fitting at the top with a slightly wider and more relaxed leg and an ultra high rise. This inseam runs true to length for me and the "Regular" fit is perfect. The Cargo version mimics the same exact relaxed fit with a side cargo pocket and a more casual feel. I have gotten so much more use out of this style than anticipated.

Classic Vegan Leather Legging

Abercrombie also carries a few versions of vegan leather leggings. The Classic Vegan Leather Legging is an ultra high rise with a side zipper and elastic waistband at the back. I find these to run a little snug, but not small enough to size up.

The Split-Hem Flare Leggings were popular for a hot minute, but I personally don't see this style really going the distance. That said, if you're a fan of flares, these are also ultra high rise with a slit-front detail and elastic waistband at the back.

How to Style: Workwear

What I love about these leather pants is that you don't have to save them for a Friday night - they can totally be worn to the office. I like to dress mine up with a blazer and some loafers or a pair of boots. I'd wear these outfits out to date night, special event or even a meeting. Trust me - do yourself a favor and just snag a pair! You'll be surprised at how many ways you can wear them!

And that's your full Abercrombie faux leather pants review! I know it's a lot of information to take in, but I hope you'll be able to use this as a guide going forward.
