I've definitely reached that point in my life where I drink much less than I used to. I was that person who loved to wind down at the end of each day with a glass (or two) of wine and some good TV. I mean, I guess I still am that person; but nowadays, I'm so busy coming home after a full work day, cooking dinner, squeezing in a workout, and working on the blog that that I rarely make time.
There are few things that get me more excited than a fun new drink recipe though, and so in honor of all of my missed cocktails over the last few months, I'm going to make it a point to try out a new recipe every week this season. God knows my poor Drink Up Pinterest board could use some love.
1. Apple Pie Sangria
Ughhhhhh I can taste the deliciousness now. Apples and cinnamon are one of my all time favorite flavor combinations, and really, what would Fall be without a killer apple cider sangria recipe?
I just adore Sugar & Charm's recipes and this one looks nothing short of amazing. The deep ruby color makes for a gorgeous aesthetic (I swear I have chef genes), but I think what I love most about this recipe is that all of the ingredients are ones we already know and love...no unfamiliar additives or liqueurs.
2. Mission Sour
I've never had a whiskey sour; I'm more of a tequila and wine kind of girl, but when I saw that this was a fig-based cocktail, I was totally on board. I love the idea of making this for a small dinner party or happy hour with friends, and pairing it with some amazing cheeses.
I won't lie...I'm a little skeptical about the egg white, but I'll give it a try.
3. Apple Cranberry Moscow Mule
I only recently got into Moscow Mules this past year, but they have become one of my favorites in the Fall and Winter months. We have a speakeasy-type club nearby who makes a killer Moscow Mule, and I kind of feel like passing them this recipe to try out!
4. Mexican Spiced Hot Chocolate
Mexican and chocolate are pretty much the only two things I need in life. I love drinks with a bit of a kick to them, and this recipe would be perfect for a chilly Fall night! This recipe involves a little bit of work on the stovetop as opposed to just throwing everything in a cocktail shaker, but it looks incredibly easy and quick!
5. Spiced Apple Margaritas
I never met a margarita I didn't like and I love that this recipe lets this summertime favorite of mine live on into the Fall! This cocktail recipe is at the top of my list so far. I mean, the cinnamon + sugar rim alone has me sold.
6. Spiced Vanilla Pear Cocktail
Vanilla and pear combined sounds so refreshing. I could see myself loving this drink in the wintertime too!
Though I'm not usually a fan of bourbon, which this recipe calls for, I've been told that with the right combination of ingredients, it can be a game changer.
7. Caramel Apple Cider Mimosas
Okay...who wants to come over for brunch?! Mimosas are one of my favorite cocktails to make because there are so many different ways to mix up the flavors and they are so incredibly easy!
Whenever I host an event, I always revert to making a DIY mimosa bar, and it's a hit every time. Remember how exciting having an ice cream sundae bar was when you were a kid? I think that's why mimosa bars are so much fun - pick your own flavors, toppings...except with cocktails. Yes, please.
8. Pumpkin Spice White Russian
Would it really be Fall if pumpkin spice didn't exist? While I don't go crazy for everything-pumpkin-spice and I've never had an infamous PSL, I do enjoy pumpkin bread or better yet...pumpkin donuts!
While this looks absolutely delish, the sprinkles might just be my favorite part of this cocktail recipe.
9. Spiked Apple Cider Floats
Floats are so underrated! I often forget about them and reach for the ice cream itself instead are but every once in a while I will have a major craving (like now)! Love the idea of an apple cider float with vanilla ice cream...reminds me of a fresh apple pie, with a trist!
10. Salted Caramel Chocolate Martini
I am fairly new to the martini game, because I am not the biggest fan of super-sweet drinks. If I'm out with friends and having a few drinks, I'd rather stick to one that's low in sugar. But if we're talking dessert drinks where I'm having one, I'm all for it. This salted caramel chocolate martini is calling my name!
