4 Ways to Style a Graphic Tee + My Summer Favorites
There's something so inherently easy and classic about jeans and a t-shirt, and while I'm a huge proponent of the classic white tee, lately, I'm into a little something extra.
I always take a more laid-back, simplistic approach to summertime fashion. Despite my love my two-piece sets and flowy sundresses, most days, I'm reaching for a pair of jeans or cut offs and a graphic tee.
What I love about a graphic tee is that although it's essentially just a t-shirt, it's a piece that can be styled in so many different ways. Although my go-to pair for a graphic tee is denim, I've experimented with a few different ways to wear em this season.
In today's post, I'm breaking down 4 easy ways to style a graphic tee, along with a huge round-up of all of my favorite pieces!
Shop my look:
Knot it With a Skirt
Graphic tees don't have to always translate to a super casual look. If I'm looking to dress up a tee while still keeping a laid-back vibe, I'll pair a graphic tee with a midi or a maxi skirt and knot it at the waist.
Tip: Use a clear elastic to knot your tee instead of actually tying it in a knot to preserve the fabric and keep it from tearing or stretching!
Denim on Denim
One of my favorite ways to wear a graphic tee is with a denim on denim look. Styling with a brightly colored tee a great way to break up the abundance of denim.
Tip: tie in a pop of color from your tee with a matching handbag.
Layer it Under a Blazer or Moto
Perfect way to elevate that casual-cool jeans-and-a-tee look. I'll often repurpose my summery graphic tees in early fall by simply layering them under a fitted blazer and styling them with my favorite denim and a pair of suede booties.
Tip: Layer a colorful tee with a neutral-colored jacket to make it stand out.
Tuck it In
...to anything high-waisted! I'm always knotting and tucking for a more flattering shape. Much of my style is boho/retro-esque and flowy, so I try to balance the oversize fit by accentuating the waist. High waisted-denim, high-waisted skirts, shorts, wide-leg pants you name it - all great options!
