Glowy Summer Makeup

My Glowy Summer Makeup Routine

Although I have a few year-round products in my makeup bag, when Summer rolls around, I swap out a lot of my products for lightweight creams or liquids. I always find it easiest, especially on hotter days, to stay away from powder and have found some amazing cream/liquid products over the years!

You know I love a glowy base, so a lot of what you'll see will give you a dewy, sunkissed type look. I've always felt these type of products keep my skin looking really fresh and radiant, especially for Summer.

Glowy Summer makeup coming up!

Pre-Makeup

Especially this time of year, sunscreen and Vitamin C are a dynamic duo that I never go without. They're a non-negotiable in my AM skincare routine, and often times I'll skip moisturizer all together because the combination of these products gives me plenty of moisture.

Colleen Rothschild Vitamin C Treatment Complex - Happy to say that I finally found a high-quality Vitamin C that I love. I've been using this since this Winter and can't recommend it enough (Code DG20 for 20% off)

Elta MD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF46 - This is a physical sunscreen that's a top-recommendation by dermatologists. It's lightweight, oil-free and great under makeup

Primer & Foundation

Tula Face Filter Primer - Smoothes skin and blurs imperfections with a subtle tint for the perfect hint of glow. A great throw on and go for no makeup days where you just want a liiittle something. I use shade Sunrise (code DANIELLEGERVINO for 15% off)

Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Sunshine Drops - Mix a drop in with your AM moisturizer or primer for a natural, sun-kissed glow. The best part? The product itself if a serum that defends against pollution and environmental stressors.

ItCosmetics CC Cream +Illumination - Although a "CC" or "color correcting" cream, I use this product as a foundation. It's SPF 50+, buildable to full coverage, and the +illumination version gives a gorgeous subtle glow. I switch between shades "Light" and "Neutral Medium".

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter - This multi-use product can be used as a primer, mixed with foundation, used in lieu of foundation, or even as a highlighter. On light makeup days, I'll use this instead of CC cream, and on full makeup days, I use Flawless Filter over my CC cream for a little extra glow all around. Gives a beautiful, airbrushed "filtered" makeup look. I use shade 3 - a glowy Summer makeup must!!

Eyes

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Vanish - This is a great pre-step to under eye concealer to target dark circles. I use shade Fair.

Tarte Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer - The best, most brightening coverage that stays all day. If you're prone to dryness or have more mature skin, you'll love the new Ultra Creamy formula. I use shade Light (Code DANIELLE).

Too Faced Born This Way Eyeshadow Palette - My top eyeshadow palette recommendation for warm neutrals! Has everything you need in both shimmer and matte shades. If you're looking for a smaller palette, try Tarte's In Bloom (another favorite)!

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner - This product has been in my makeup bag forever. I love the felt tip, which makes for a perfect cat eye application. I recommend a dark brown versus a black for a softer look.

You might've noticed there's no mascara in my makeup routine! I use Lashify, so there's no need for mascara, but my top rec for mascara is Tarte's Lights Camera Lashes (code DANIELLE).

Brows

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz - I've been using this brow pencil for years! Shade Medium Brown is perfect for my dark brows.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze - If you're going for that fluffy, brushed brows look, this if your product! Highly recommend getting the Brow Freeze applicator, too.

Blush, Bronze & Highlight

Charlotte Tilbury Sun-Kissed Glow Cream Bronzer - This is a fairly new product in my makeup bag, but I'm already obsessed! It's the smoothest application, and such a gorg Summer-y bronze. I use shade Medium. My must-have brush is this one by Tarte!

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand Liquid Blush - I tried the Beauty Light Wands after they went viral on TikTok and they definitely live up to the hype! I use shade Pinkgasm and love that it works as an all-in-one blush/highlight. Peachgasm is another pretty peachy-pink shade.

Iconic London Liquid Illuminator - On those days where I want an extra glow, this liquid illuminator delivers a blinding highlight!

Lips

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner - I like to match my liner to my neutral lip shades to help give my lips a fuller appearance. I love Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk shade as a universal neutral.

bareMinerals Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick - I'm loving this lighter nude pink for Summer. Really creamy formula with a gorgeous pigment.

Tarte Maneater Gloss - This is great on its own or as a finishing gloss. Plumps up lips with a tingle! I use shade Buff.

More neutral lipsticks I love here!

Setting Powder & Spray

NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder - I apply this with a a tapered brush mostly under eyes to set my concealer. It's great as an all-over setting powder too and the new packaging is awesome.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray - Doubles as a primer or a setting spray! Light, fresh, and helps to set the base of my makeup for all-day wear. I use this at the very end of my makeup routine!
