My Fall Capsule Wardrobe for 2024

Fall is my season. It's the time of year when I get to bring out the pieces in my closet that make me feel my best (bury me in my outerwear collection).

While I love embracing new trends (tailored vests and suede accessories are two of my favorites this season), my Fall capsule wardrobe is the foundation for every outfit I build. The beauty of staples is their versatility — you can keep it classic with a blazer, jeans, and your favorite tee, or use them to style a standout piece or a trend you're into (like like a leopard flat).

In today’s highly-requested post, I'm sharing my Fall wardrobe staples for 2024 that I'll be wearing on repeat all season, plus over 20 ways to mix and match these pieces.

Staple Tops

Basic Tee - A classic t-shirt is always one of my most-worn staples year-round. I have the Abercrombie essential easy tee in almost every color - it's the perfect fit (not too tight or too loose) and only $25.

Bodysuit - While I love my Abercrombie bodysuits, I'm also obsessed with the Skims Fits Everybody bodysuits! They're so comfortable, flattering, and come in every color. I also love this bodysuit from Amazon.

Knit or Cardigan - I love a ribbed knit because it adds some texture. H&M is always my first stop for affordable knitwear.

Satin Blouse - Love a satin blouse because it's a great workwear staple that you can also bring into date night or your weekend plans. So easy to dress up or down, while still looking put together!

White Button-Up - One of those Fall wardrobe staples that's just a non-negotiable. Abercrombie currently carries my favorite oversized white button-up.

Staple Bottom, Skirts + Dresses

Medium Wash Denim - Jeans are my love language, and you know my love for AGOLDE denim runs deep. If you're not quite ready to splurge on a pair of jeans, try Abercrombie denim, which is another favorite!

Wide Leg Pants - Don't just trust my opinion on the Abercrombie Sloane tailored pant! Here are your reviews. Just in: Check out the new Abercrombie Quinn tailored pant!

Faux Leather Pants - These are a great alternative to jeans that can easily be dressed up or down. Check out 6 styled outfit ideas here!

Sweater Dress - This is a great work to weekend staple that you can pull out when you're in the mood for something cozy. I'm loving the longer styles this season!

Slip Dress - There's so much you can do with a slip dress! Throw on a blazer for work, a sweater for weekends or a leather jacket for date night.

Satin Midi/Maxi Skirt - One of my must-have Fall wardrobe staples for 2023. I prefer to dress my midi skirts down with sneakers, always!

Staple Outerwear

Blazers - I love a blazer that's a little on the longer and more oversized side. H&M is always my first stop when I'm looking for something new (and affordable). This Abercrombie blazer is another classic that will never go out of style.

Trench Coat - A trench is a perfect in-between coat when you want something light and classic, but don't need that heavy outerwear just set. I just bought this Abercrombie trench (size down).

Leather Jacket - This is another one of my non-negotiable Fall wardrobe staples for 2023. Brands like Topshop and Zara offer a great mid-price point on faux leather jackets. I invested in this piece by AllSaints, which I've had for many years.

Denim Shirt - If you're wanting a piece of outerwear to throw over a tee or a blouse doesn't necessarily fall into the jacket category, denim shirts are it this season.

Staple Shoes

Casual Sneakers - Sneakers are what I wear most days. Adidas Samba or Gazelle are two styles I've been wearing non-stop (if you're not sure where to start, check out my sizing guides!)

Slingback Heels - Although a slingback is a little on the trendier side, it never really goes out of style IMO! It's a super easy way to update your current heel situation. This comfy Sam Edelman pair is one of my favorites.

Ballet Flat - Okay, yes, I had to throw this one in there as a Fall wardrobe staple for 2024! While we may be over them come 2025, ballet flats are huge this season. As long as you can get past your middle school self wearing flats everyday, this is a classic, clean staple I think everyone should try this Fall.

Loafers - Loafers came as a trend and stuck as a staple in my opinion. I bought my favorite pair from H&M a few seasons back.

Black Boots - A pair of black boots is one thing in my closet that I'll keep for years and years. I just bought this Dolce Vita style for this Fall (size up 1/2 size). If you're into a trendier square toe, these insanely comfy boots were a favorite of mine last season (size up 1/2 size).

Staple Accessories

Simple Bag - And no, it doesn't have to be designer! If you are buying designer, YSL is usually my brand of choice because I find that their bags are very practical and versatile. You can also find a ton of budget-friendly options on Amazon. Check out my Amazon Storefront for all my faves.

Tote Bag - If you need something a little larger for everyday, I'm loving woven tote bags this Fall.

Jewelry, etc. - Give me a pair of gold hoops and a layering necklace, and I'm set. You can use code DANIELLE 20 for 20% off any Electric Picks jewelry (plus, the brand has a lifetime guarantee on any piece you buy!).
